Hi guys,

I have just heard an information and I wanted to know if that is true. Does Core 2 Duo or Quad processors absolutely need Windows Vista to run adequately? Thank you for any insight.

There are some people who will tell you that XP can only use one processor.
This is not true!
XP was designed for multiple processors. It can use a dual, or quad, core processor just as well as Vista (each core is seen as a seperate processor).
I built a custom quad core computer for a client that wanted XP, It works great and is very fast.

Just to elaborate. XP at first was designed for only single core CPU's. It wasnt until SP2 that multicore CPU's were supported. I have sen many people with issues running XP Home with Quad Core CPU's and have had no issue with XP Pro. So that is something to keep in consideration.

Vista does not need a Quad CPU to run efficently. I run Vista just fine on my P4 3.4 Ghz with HT.
