:(By mistake I downloaded this horrible winspywareprotect. It really did look like a windows programme. When it comes up I close it in task manager and have done scan in safe mode but it comes back.
I have been trying for hours and days. Please help. If I stop it in task manager is my computer safe to use ie: making payments etc.
How do I get rid of it forever? Thanks

Hello harrold, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo..

Please have a read at this topic and do all the preliminary steps given.

If you are using Windows Vista, or if you are using XP and already have Service Pack 1a or later, please ignore Step Three: Windows Updates and continue with Step Four: Reboot - Test

It should handle about 70% of your malware problem.. Should the problem still exist, please post a fresh HijackThis log here as shown in the Step Five: Posting a Hijack This Log.. Thank you :)

Regards

Thank you. I downloaded AFT andMalware, ran the scans re boot and winspywareprotect was gone. Thank you so much it was so easy. But my laptop seems to be still going slow and the keyboard is doing funny things. Is there something else i should do to clean it like disk clean up or something? And should I use the Malware as a regular cleaner. I have AVG, Ad Aware 2007, Spyware doctor, windows defender and Norton.

Thank you again. I finally feel as if I getting some where.
I thought you might say that about the keyboard, it seems fine now.
I downloaded superantispyware and it has been scanning for 16 hours! I paused it to write to you.
Is that normal? So far it has found 114 threats, tracking cookies, when it finishes I will send log
but I think problem may be solved. What anti virus, spyware and malware ect do you have.

Well.. If you have huge amount of data... let say, over 250GB of data inside your computer, then it can reach almost a day scan..

I personally use Avira Antivir as my antivirus, Malwarebytes' as my antispyware, SpywareBlaster as my spyware blocker, and the old version of COMODO as my firewall on this very laptop...

On my another personal computer, I use PC Tools Antivirus, PC Tools Firewall with Threat Fire, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as antispyware.. (didn't use SpywareBlaster on that one but since you asked, I'll install it later :) )

Will wait for your log if you wish to post it :)
