Well today, I woke up after a good nights sleep, turned on my laptop and went about my daily routine; IGN, Yahoo mail etc., until I was shocked to find an AVG 8.0 had found a Trojan through real time protection. The result was this:(ignore quotations)
'C:\windows\system32\PCANDIS5.sys - Trojan horse Generic10.ASPV'
So being cautious I 'Googled' the file name and the Trojan. My results came up with many results. But some said it was an AVG false positive, others say it could be a DNS changer? Others, showed the file in there forum post, but found they had bigger problems and the question was not answered?
So with all this I was unsure of what to do. I have the suspected trojan in the Virus Vault and have not deleted knowing that the file is actually an important driver to do with networking. I will include a HiJackThis Log just in case I have a bigger problem the rest of there other websites?
Also I have been looking into AVG 8.0 . Is there any recommendations to which anti-virus which may be better like 'avast!' or 'AntiVir'? Or is AVG good enough?
