Hello!
I'm new on this forum, so I want to know if you can help me with a problem;
Someone told me it is possible to be infected with an autorun infection from a removable disk (a USB stick who wasn't mine);
Another one problem it is with a "font size problem", a bug or some like that, that appears on my start page of Internet Explorer (the text became smallest, and everytime I need to made a "correction" (like: View--->Text Size--->Normal).
I want to tell you that Deckard System Scanner it's doesn't work proper (appear just a log with main.txt! the extra.txt doesn't appear!)
I post a Hijack This log to see if is something bad with my PC (I have Windows XP, SP2, I use AVG Anti-Virus 8.0, and IE 6).
I'm sorry if a made a "bad" post.
Thank you!

Hi there and sorry for the delay - could I have a fresh look at your system

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

Like I said, I can find just the information for main.txt, the extra.txt it doesn't exist!
I look on C partition and it is just this main.txt;
By the way, when the DSS have finish it job, appear on a new window just this main.txt, and log information I put it here:

Hi again this will be a three part fix

One

  • 1 - Flash Drive Disinfector
    Download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs from >here< and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
  • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
  • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
  • Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder...it will help protect your drives from future infection.

Two

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
  • Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Smab.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Smab0.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\eSellerateEngine.dll
    C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1482476501-1644491937-682003330-1013\isew32.exe
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\mountpoints2\{a0799cd4-ce74-11dc-aeb4-001a9233777c}
    Purity
  • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Three

Please visit this web page for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix

http://www.bleepingc...to-use-combofix

This includes installing the Windows XP Recovery Console in case you have not installed it yet. It is imperative that you install this as it will enable a system recovery in the event of problems

For more information on the Windows XP Recovery Console read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058.

Once you install the Recovery Console, when you reboot your computer, you'll see the option for the Recovery Console now as well. Don't select Recovery Console as we don't need it. By default, your main OS is selected there. The screen stays for 2 seconds and then it proceeds to load Windows. That is normal.

Post the log from ComboFix when you've accomplished that, along with the OTMoveit log.

That doesn't look to bad now. Are you experiencing any problems ?

Lets sweep the registry for orphans

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly.

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean :)

Double click OTMoveIt2 once again and you should see a CleanUp! button, press that button, you may get prompted by your firewall that OTMoveIt2 wants to contact the internet, allow this, a cleanup.txt will be downloaded, a message dialog will ask you if you want to proceed with the cleanup process, click Yes. This will delete all the tools you have downloaded plus itself. Malwarebytes can be removed via control panel

Now to get you off to a good start we will re-set your restore points so that all the bad stuff is gone for good. Then if you need to restore at some stage you will be clean. There are several ways to reset your your restore point but this is my method:

1. Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore.
2. On the dialogue box that appears select Create a Restore Point
3. Click NEXT
4. Enter a name e.g. Clean
5. Click CREATE

You now have a clean restore point, to get rid of the bad ones:

1. Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > Disk Cleanup.
2. In the Drop down box that appears select your main drive e.g. C
3. Click OK
4. The System will do some calculation and the display a dialogue box with TABS
5. Select the More Options Tab.
6. At the bottom will be a system restore box with a CLEANUP button click this
7. Accept the Warning and select OK again, the program will close and you are done

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free program: It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Keep safe :)

Thank you very for the job you made it, even we don't met.
For now it's look very well, but... if will appear some... I WILL CAME AGAIN AND ASK FOR MY RIGHTS (I'm just kidding, I hope NEVER EVER to be forced about malwares and viruses to ask for help).

But... I use a scan with NoAdware v5.0 and look what I found! It doesn't look very good! It is just a fake, or what?!

- Kazaa --- HKEY_Curent User... --- Danger: SEVERE;
- Backdoor.Bifrose --- Danger: SEVERE;
- Trojan.PWS.Transpy --- Danger: SEVERE;
- Disk Knight --- Danger: DANGEROUS;
- a lot of cookies;
- Adware.Elodu --- Autorun.inf! --- DANGEROUS;
- Troj/DwnL-GXP --- SEVERE;
- Troj/Agent-GEG --- SEVERE;
-SpywareLocked --- SEVERE!

Please tell me what should I do? Look pretty bad!
It is necessary to made another topic?
This problems I don't have until now...
I've tried to delete this one problems with this NoAdware, but after a restart, a new scan reveal the same threats...

Noadware was until a couple of years ago a rogue spyware programme. It supposedly changed and was removed from the list, but as nothing was detected by MBAM I am a tad suspicious. Did it give any locations for the nasties that now inhabit your system ? Is this a registered version or a trial version ?

Kazaa is a legitimate programme albeit one I would not want on my system but there again I do not use any P2P programmes, as they usually download unwanted gifts with the regular files

If you could give me the answers to the above I will see how to proceed from there :)

I put a print screen with the locations and the "problems" that NoAdware find them;

- I have licensed program;
- I don't know the problems that company have in past; I made an option for this because a friend of mine told me it is a good one;
- Now I see that some malware discovered after the scan I told you in the last message, I remove them with this program, and... now I see just a few remain here (no more that kazaa...);
- I think that autorun.inf is the most importont and dangerous...

Can you help me? I am in safe? That 2 antyspyware programs that you recommended are a good one (I mean... are eficient on my... system schedule).

Hi again the Autorun.inf was placed on your system by the flash disinfector to prevent that type of infection

Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder...it will help protect your drives from future infection

I use both the antispy programmes recommended on my system :)

NoAdware may have picked up some orphan registry entries, but as far as I can see you are clean
