Hi there, and welcome! My name is Kat, and I'll be helping you to get your computer fixed up and on the run again! You may want to print these instructions or save them to a NotePad file on your desktop to make it easier for you to follow each step in order!

Did you remove the entries found with AdAware and Spybot? Your log is actually very clean at this point! Only a couple of rogue entries to get rid of! :tazz:

Before we tackle the infections on your machine, I need you to do something very important. It is not a good idea to run HijackThis from a "temp" location. Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Before moving on to the actual fix, please disable SpyBot's TeaTimer option until we are finished by right clicking the TeaTime icon on your task bar and choosing "exit"

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.
O16 - DPF: {36F46B1E-11B7-4221-B4F7-F1FC9687E7F6} (MBox Control) - http://kr.music.yaho...ponent/MBox.cab
O16 - DPF: {39B0684F-D7BF-4743-B050-FDC3F48F7E3B} (FilePlanet Download Control Class) - http://www.fileplane...DC_1_0_0_44.cab
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akama...meInstaller.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Reboot the computer, then post a fresh HJT log here in a reply for me to check over! Let me know if you're having any other problems, and how things are running now!

hi again!!

Did you turn off Spybot's TeaTimer option? That has to be turned off until we are totally finish. You have two bad lines that didn't fully remove. Please turn off TeaTimer, and then open HJT and scan for a log again. Place a check only next to these lines:
O16 - DPF: {39B0684F-D7BF-4743-B050-FDC3F48F7E3B} -
O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} -

close ALL windows and programs other than HJT and click "Fix Selected". Then reboot and post another log!

Jumin, those two 016's are not Malware entries, they were just 'leftover' files from previous downloads you had done. They won't harm anything by leaving them.

How is your system running now? Your log is clean!!

Congratulations! :tazz: Your log is clean! ;)
Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Other necessary Programs:
  • AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
  • Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
  • More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.
And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place? and AntiSpyware Net's spyware article: Spyware, Adware, Malware: What it is, how it got on my computer, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent it.
