*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
Put checkmarks in the Replace and Use Dummy boxes.

hi
sorry but im a bit lost!

you said "*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
Put checkmarks in the Replace and Use Dummy boxes."

I cant selcet the delete on reboot opion and put check marks in replace and use dummy boxes at the same time! And also is there a run option for this program or does it just run a boot up?

Sorry if this is a daft question but im a noob to this stuff!
Thanks again for your help!

Sorry that was a copy & paste without thinking too much. :tazz:

That should have said:
*In the killbox program, select the Replace on Reboot option.
*Put a checkmark Use Dummy box.

If you need to run Killbox you start it by doubleclicking Killbox.exe

Yes. Put that in the box and then click the red button with the white X in it. Then follow the prompts to reboot.

ok i did that and clicked reboot but then i get the following message!
"Pendingfilerenameoperations Registry data has been removed by external process"
I click ok and my system does not reboot! Does that mean it has worked and I just reboot as normal or is there a problem?

Thanks

All that's left is the ugly MSEvents.

Please surf to http://www.billsway.com/vbspage/ and scroll down to
Registry Search Tool
Download, unzip and run RegSrch.vbs
Put dosac.dll in the dialog box to search for.

After a while a prompt will come up. Click OK to write the results to wordpad and post them.

Now we're talking. :tazz:

Close as many programs as possible.
Copy the part in bold below to notepad and save it as msevil.reg

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents.1]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\dosac]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44}]

[-HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2602281619-176917084-3219624424-1005\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44}]

Please download Process Explorer by Sysinternals from here:
http://www.sysintern...s/procexpnt.zip
Unzip the file and run the program by doubleclicking procexp.exe.
In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of dosac.dll once and then click the kill button.

After you have killed all of the dosac.dll's under winlogon click ok.

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of dosac.dll then click the kill button. Once you have done that click ok again.

Now doubleclick on msevil.reg and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Now use Killbox again on C:\WINDOWS\system\dosac.dll

After the reboot post a new HijackThis log.
