Need help with spyware removal I think.
Computer works as it normally has for the past year- no slow down or other abnormal activity. However, when I run a scan with AVG Antispyware it identifies Backdoor.PcClient.csx and recommend a quarentine which I selected and it preformed. When I run AVG Antivirus it identifies "host - change - C:\windows\system32\etc\hosts but recommends no action. I am running an older Sygate Personal Firewall and the traffic log file show www.vpsloan.com (218.6.12.52) trying to access the network at port 80. I check this log often and this is new over the past two weeks. I have Sygate Personal Firewall block the outboud traffic which I hope is working. On it's first scan, Malewarebytes AntiMalware found and cleaned Trojan.Agent at C:\windows hosts but has found nothing since. I booted into the safe mode and ran Spybot Search and Destroy (using the latest update), the AVG AntiSpyware with the same results (Backdoor.PcClient.csx) and then AVG Antivirus with the same results (host change) and then MalwareBytes Antimaleware and it found nothing on the complete scan. I have read your introduction to this forum and attempted to follow all instructions before posting including running the ATF Cleaner. Here are the requested logs- I hope you can help.

Hi Sidney :)

Sorry about your wait time :) things are a little busy around here. I'm in training right now so I am posting under supervision, there may be a lag between my replies as they have to be checked before I say them to you. I have gone through your log and will be posting help for you shortly :)

If you have already resolved this problem or are receiving help elsewhere please let us know so this topic can be closed ;)

Hello again :)

Your log is very old. We need more up to date information. Please read and follow the directions in the You Must Read This Before Posting A Hijackthis Log thread. Then post a dss log instead of a Hijackthis log.

Run the MGA Diagnostic Tool
  • Download MGADiag to your desktop.
  • Double-click on MGADiag.exe to launch the program
  • Click "Continue"
  • Ensure that the "Windows" tab is selected (it should be by default).
  • Click the "Copy" button to copy the MGA Diagnostic Report to the Windows clipboard.
  • Paste the MGA Diagnostic Report back here in your next reply.
Post DSS Logs
Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and transfer it to the other computer's Desktop.
- Close all other windows before proceeding.
- Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
- If your anti-virus or firewall complains, please allow this script to run as it is not malicious.
- When the scan has finished, two notepad files will open named main.txt and extra.txt. Please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt in one reply and extra.txt in a separate reply.

Hi Sidney :) You definitely have a few things that need attention. Please follow the directions below.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.
- Double click "SDFix.exe" and it will extract the files to C:\SDFix

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode
- Restart your computer.
- As soon as it starts booting up continuously tap F8.
- A menu should come up, white text on a black screen, select "Safe Mode" on the list and press enter.
- Choose your usual account.

Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click "RunThis.bat".
- Type "Y" to begin the cleanup process.
- It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
- Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
- When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
- Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as "Report.txt". Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum.
- Paste the contents of the Report.txt in your next reply.

Thank you for the help. Here's the SDfix Report.txt SDfix seems to have removed some of the problems. When the reboot occurred my Sygate firewall posted two messages one saying scvhost was trying to contact www.vpsloan.com and then a second warning that scvhost was being contacted from a remote machine at port 1027. I deneyed both access.

Hi Sidney :)

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

Please download ComboFix from one of the locations below, and save it to your Desktop.

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts. Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Hi Sidney, that's fine. Just follow directions below on your return and post the log from the results.

Step 1: Scan a suspicious file
  • Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
  • Copy and paste the following file path into the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\user32.dll
  • Click on the Upload button
  • Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
  • Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.

Step 2: Run a CF Script
1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

KillAll::

NetSvc::
fyesaq

Sysrst::

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

Posted Image

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.
