Hi people, hope I can be helped.

Earlier today, for no reason I can think of the start menu stopped working properly. I can navigate the Menu with the mouse and hovering over sub folders etc. But I cannot click anywhere, left or right. When I click on for example "internet explorer" it just goes off and explorer doesn't open.

I can however, hover over what I want and hit enter and that works!

Any help much appreciated thanks!

Have you tried replacing the mouse to see if that is the problem?

Can you hover over start and sub folders to where you can get to the accessories folder and to restore and see if you can restore to a previous restore point?

General keyboard-only commands

CTRL+ESC: Opens the Start menu (use the ARROW keys to select an item)

CTRL+ESC or ESC: Selects the Start button (press TAB to select the taskbar, or press SHIFT+F10 for a context menu)

SHIFT+F10 Opens a shortcut menu for the selected item (this is the same as right-clicking an object

ALT+DOWN ARROW: Opens a drop-down list box

Well the system restore fixed the problem. It occurs when I uninstall "Driver Detector" it seems to stop the Start Menu from working. So I've simply left it on, its only small!

Cheers.
