transfer memory vista to xp?

hello all i have just bought a new laptop its a hp compaq 6715s windows vista, i bought this after being told that i would have no problems installing xp on and so far so good the only problem i have is that it has only allocated 40gb to xp and im using as my main oprative system, in total there are 250gb so i woundering how i can transfer the memory from vista to xp? any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all

Using a partition manager like GParted to resize partitions is an acceptable solution to reallocate memory, however you will have to repair the bootloader and boot files for the affected operating systems. This can get messy, so back up all of your data first, and make sure you have all of your media.
