So I am putting together some older parts for a friends computer. He is going to do some real light gaming and a lot of internet browsing. I already have him stocked with 2gb of DDR-400, an ATI X800 Graphics card, 120gb Sata HDD and the other usuals. What I am stuck on is the processor. I have two that I can use with this older Mobo.

The 1st CPU is a Socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0ghz, 512mb L2

The 2nd is a Socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 3300+ 2.4ghz, 256mb L2

Now at first glance the 3300+ seems better because it is 400mhz faster, but then when you look at the L2 Cache you see that the 3200+ has double the L2 with 512mb. I really have to say I am perplexed by this. Anybody have any suggestions?

The 3200 would be faster because it has more cache. Cache is faster.
Having said that for light gaming it really wouldn't matter one way or another.
