Hello Ray G, Welcome to Geeks-To-Go.

My name is Gravity Gripp and I'll be working with you on these issues. Please note that I am still in training so there may be a slight delay in my responses because I will be working with an expert on this.

The first step that I need you to do is the following.

STEP ONE
Posted ImageClick here to download HJTInstall.exe
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

another thing is that it is taking us back to the start up screen when clicking it to open a game or website, besides mail. Then it freezes up on us.

Ray G, I'm not seeing anything in the logs here to indicate any malware issues. Let's do a scan with Kaspersky just to see if I've missed anything. Also, can you tell me when your problems started happening? What changed at that point?

STEP ONE
Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Accept

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    [list]
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
  • Scan Options:
Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases

  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:[list]Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:

Ok if it is clean why is it when we try to get into windows, like my work website another websites, it lets us in then we we click a link it either gives us a blank page and done at bottom or takes us back to desk top after it has closed ALL the windows that are open, not just the website one. It does this in both windows explorer and firefox. Like I mentioned before it didnt use to do this.

Ray G, well I can confirm that your PC is free of malware. However, you do seem to have some sort of issue. My best guess would be that it's either related to AVG or Comodo. Which one have you installed the most recently? My honest opinion is that it's AVG and my recommendation would be to remove it and got with Avast. If the problem continues, remove Comodo and go with another firewall such as ZoneAlarm. If you need guidance in this, please just ask.
