Hey guys thanks for doing what you do here. Your expertise is appreciated.

This machine started out with some Rogue Anti-spyware.

I ran MBAM, then praformed an AVAST bootscan.

I ran MBAM again, rebooted and ran MBAM a final time and it came back without finding any infections. I thought I was good but AVAST soon found more stuff and they wont go away.

Hello.. My name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to GeekU.. Please do the following...

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • Please let your firewall allow the scanning/downloading process.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
If you are using Vista, you need to right-click at dss.exe icon and choose Run as Administrator

Computer seems to be better.. avast isn't freaking out like it was. I ran Kaspersky, it seemed to have found a couple of things.

BTW: you may want to check your canned speech, I think kaspersky changed it's prompts. I wasn't ever given any scan options??? And saving the log is a little different than instructed there is no longer a "save as text" button and it defauts to saving the log as a html file. Most people will be able to figure it out... but just in case you get that one user who can't, they may have to scan again... and it sure does take a long time to scan!!! :)

Thank you :) Kaspersky does take looong time to scan.. But it is needed to find anything malicious that may left.. I'll have a run with Kaspersky and update my canned speech :)

Your Kaspersky log looks very good.. just one false positive.. Please post me a fresh DSS log for my final review before I can set you free :)

Your log looks clean to my eyes...

Now for some cleanup..
  • Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
  • Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Vista users, please right click on OTMoveit2.exe and select "Run as an Administrator")
  • Click on the CleanUp! button
  • A list of tool components used in the Cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
  • If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OtMoveit2 to reach the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
  • Click Yes to begin the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
  • You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

You already have Avast! as your antivirus and Malwarebytes' as your antispyware,.. However, I also haven't seen any third-party firewall in your logs.. Do you have any? If you don't, please install ONLY ONE of these free and excellent firewall below:
After you install the third party firewall, please disable your Windows firewall. Please go to My Computer >> Control Panel >> Windows Firewall and choose Off (not recommended) option. Then please click Apply and Ok.

Lastly, to keep your operating system up to date please visit the link below monthly

Please read these excellent articles by miekiemoes :

And another excellent article by CastleCops Malware Prevention: Prevent Re-infection

Please reply to this thread once more and tell us about the computer behaviour before we can close this thread :)

Have a safe and happy computing day!

Computer is running(or walking) much better. It is a slow machine IMO. The user has had it running on the same OS for a long time, and doesn't do much preventive maintence on it. I'll do some optimizing on it to see if she will run with the big boys. :)

Feel free to close the thread, the issue has been resolved.

Thanks for your time and assitance. Your help was professional and effective. :)
