Hi Thunderbird,
Ok, I downloaded and installed comodo? After that, when I restarted, the firewall kept asking me what I wanted to do with all these programs that were trying to access the internet. a few had to do with avast (i looked online on my desktop), so I let them through. I couldn't do the HT scan so I disabled the firewall. I am ready to paste to reply, but now I can't access the internet. (Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage). Also, the comodo has set itself up as my homepage. Not sure what to do. I am currently using the desktop to communicate with you.
Thank you,
Rgram

Hello rgram,

Hmm, ok, Comodo is not going to work here. Please uninstall it by going to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove everything that starts with Comodo.

After that please enable the windows firewall by following the steps below.

1. Click Start, click Run, type Firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, click On (recommended), and then click OK.

After that you should be able to get online again.

After that, please run DSS again and post the entire log it produces. If you can't get online please let me know that, and tranfer the log of DSS to your desktop.

Hi Thunderbird,
Please don't tire of me! Sorry to be such a bother. I uninstalled comodo (2 programs) safesurf and the firewall. Ran DSS and in the middle of it Avast comes up and says a virus has been detected and wants me to do something about it. I am supposing that I should let it remove it..that is why we installed it, right?....gosh, I have got to learn more about this stuff....I am mad at myself for not having the programs in place to prevent this in the first place....anyway, enough self-flagellation....

So, i am going to do the recommended thing and "move to chest", and try to finish this log for you to get it posted.
Okay, I moved the forst one to chest, then another and another.....shouldI just continue moving the to chest....DSS is underneath and won't continue doing its thing while the avast warning window is up. Each time I click on move to chest, the avast window disappears for a second and the Dss window starts up again....until the next virux warning pops up. I am so sorry to be a bother. I will stop moving to chest...may be a million of them....until I hear from you.

Until then,
rgram

Hello rgram,

Do you have back internet on your laptop?

Please disable Avast while you are scanning with DSS. When it is done, please enable Avast, and post the log for me.

Hello rgram,

i will check google first from now on when i have a quick question like that before bother you.

You are not bothering me at all, if I woul'dn't like to answer questions, I shouldn't helping people with viruses. However, you might get your answer faster if you use Google indeed. :)

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Right click on the Avenger.zip folder and select "Extract All..."
  • Follow the prompts and extract the avenger folder to your desktop
2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Begin copying here:
Files to Delete:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\xHhRtBeg.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ygvspu.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kgllstlv.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ismdfbol.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kgwfxb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bxfogmwo.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\napktkhc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sajhmx.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eawygaal.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ueopyyps.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fciijn.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rsqvwxju.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lvejouvd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kthsyg.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\filhmsso.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hfsarwgs.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\oyogvi.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nwrdhmdt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eceenhde.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\geBtRhHx.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlJCVnLC.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jhzpcn.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdjpi.exe

Registry values to delete:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run | C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdjpi.exe

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, open the avenger folder and start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon.
  • Right click on the window under Input script here:, and select Paste.
  • You can also click on this window and press (Ctrl+V) to paste the contents of the clipboard.
  • Click on Execute
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Delete", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh a new log of DSS..

Hello rgram,

According to your logs. Everything seems fine now. How is your laptop running? Don't you experience any problems with it?

wow!, really? It appears to be running better.....I am wondering....the comodo thing.....there is a comodo toolbar now, and I thought that I had deleted everything that has to do with it. How can I get back to the previous toolbar? And the comodo SSL free firewall two facotr authentication products from canada - windows internet explorer page just popped up.

I would like to have that all off.

MY I ask you a question? How can I make sure that this computer does not get infected again? Do I have the stuff on it to protect it? Do I need to do virus scans regularly, like should I go onto the g2g webpage and do the free PC scan weekly or something?

Is there a way that I can ask you a question that will not be posted on the reply page?
