Infected with vundo.gen!d trojan

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, and have obtained the vundo.gen!d trojan. In an attempt to clean the computer, I also purchased McAfee Internet Security Suite. However, the trojan will not let me install the virus protection part of McAfee. Windows Defender pops up with the trojan infection notification on reboot every time.

I am lost on how to get rid of vundo.
