Hi, my son infected my computer with the BRONTOK Q virus but I also get a webpage that pops up saying BRONTOK A & a lot of writting in a different language. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of it but every time I try to run/download anti virus software or open a web page that's "ANTI-BRONTOK" my computer restarts. I can't post a Highjack This log because it restarts my computer every time I start the scan. I also can't get some of the commands to work like ipconfig, msconfig, regedit... I have also tried all these things while logged on as a different user & in safe mode & every option F8 gives you but still just restarts the computer. :)

my last resort is to just erase EVERYTHING & start from scratch. (but I didn't want to lose family pics). I don't know what else to do. So I am prepared to start from scratch if I have to but if you know a better way PLEASE tell me. The OS is Windows 2000. Right now the computer is running VERY slow & then it stops responding. I am using my younger son's computer to post this because I'm having a hard time getting getting a browser to open on mine.

Thank you for your time

Bunny

Would it be easier to just erase & reinstall the OS?
