Hey Guys

I'm getting this unmountable error message.

I don't have the XP CD that came with the OS but I downloaded the MS diskettes to repair OS or reinstall.

I've tried FIXBOOT in Recovery console and that claims to have been successful, but when I try CHKDSK it cannot find the AUTOCHK.EXE file.

Could really use some help with this.

Did you get past the unmountable error message?

If you did, then chkdsk can be run from the start/run box.

Did you use the "chkdsk /r" funtion?

I found some very interesting reading on this subject. Specifically the "Autochk.exe cannot be Found error"

Yes I did...it was a pain to make work from the A drive floppy but it actually said there were two irretrievable or unfix able problems found.
