Just a quick question here, sounds like everyone has lots of computers joined by a router as in my case, is it better to have them share everything on their network thus allowing file transfers which also allows cross infection too, or would it still be better to share only Internet access and use a small external harddrive(mine being 80gb) for transfers of stuff meaning the physical hussle of pluging and repluging but a deminshed risk of infection.

2 PCs, 1 Mac
Mac is '99 model iMac running OS 9
Main PC is a "slightly" newer one (given to me by my sis when she got a new one) that's running ME
Other PC used to run 98, but I recently installed Gentoo Linux (which I obviously screwed up, so will have to install again LOL)

Tied using a hub into a DSL router. When I need to share files, I fire up the FTP server and do it that way :tazz:

(1) My laptop (2.4 GHz AMD Athlon)
(2) My wife's computer (2.4 GHz Intel)
(3) the kids' computer (ANCIENT HP -- 800 MHz processor, I think . . .)
(4) Parts for a fourth computer
(5) XBox
(6) PS; and my prize - - -

(7) An original, mint condition (okay, GOOD condition) Osborne Portable Computer (first mass market portable computer). About 64K processor with a wonderful 4" square screen, all in a huge kit weighing around thirty pounds.

2 PCs XP home and pro, a laptop with xp home that is bust and i havent got round to fixin and a laptop with win2K both IBM T21s. And a clie palmtop. Gave my old old pc to my grandparents and i did have some relic from the 80s.
