Remove Win32/FalseAlert.AL w/antivirus XP 2008

I am unable to remove a Virus (believe to be) - Win32 Trojan called False Alert.AL My Protection software (CA) did not catch it nor can they help me to remove it. My system destop has changed to a blue page with a warning in the middle of the screen stating Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! A antivirus warning keeps popping up. There is an icon called Antivirus Xp 2008 in the tool bar areas.

Please advise what a need to do.....Thanks
