Hello, my name is fenzodahl512 and welcome to Geekstogo.. Please do the following...

Please visit below webpage for instructions for downloading and running ComboFix

http://www.bleepingc...to-use-combofix

This includes installing the Windows XP Recovery Console in case you have not installed it yet.

For more information on the Windows XP Recovery Console read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058.

Once you install the Recovery Console, when you reboot your computer, you'll see the option for the Recovery Console now as well. DO NOT select Recovery Console as we don't need it. By default, your main OS is selected there. The screen stays for 2 seconds and then it proceeds to load Windows. That is normal.

Post the log from ComboFix (located in C:\combofix.txt) when you've accomplished that, along with a new HijackThis log.

Regards

Hello, can you manually change your Desktop background to anything else?.. Just right click on Desktop and choose Properties.. Then, change your Desktop background from there.. Lets do these..

You have two sets of Security Programs..

1. CA Internet Security Suite
2. Norton Internet Security

Its not wise to have more than one Internet Security Suite in your computer.. I strongly suggest you to uninstall one of them,, Just tell me which one you wish to keep and which one you want to remove...

Please download DAFT and save it to your desktop:
  • Double-click the daft.exe icon.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • Select everything it is displaying there
  • Click the Fix button.
  • Then rescan with DAFT again - it should say now that "All associations are OK"
  • Close DAFT if you receive that message. This means that it is fixed now.

Lets run F-Secure online scan for Viruses, Spyware and RootKits:
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start scanning button. A window will pop up.
  • Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button
  • Click Full System Scan and allow the components to download and the scan to complete.
  • If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post
If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan
  • When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
  • Click Automatic cleaning
  • When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
  • Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post
Notes:
  • This scan will only work with Internet Explorer
  • You must have administrator rights to run this scan
  • This scan can take several hours, so please be patient

When I right click on my desktop I get Internet Explorer Properties.

I want to keep CA Internet Security Suite and remove Norton.

I ran the DAFT just fine.

I could not run the F-Secure Online Scan... when I get to the License Agreement, I can only click on REJECT. I can see Accept but can't click on it.

I still can't get the Kaspersky WebScanner to scan my computer. It says downloading and installing but nothing ever happens. I have tried this several more times.

I did remove Norton, so now I only have one security on my computer.

The RUNDLL message has stopped popping up. Now the only thing that I can tell is out of whack is the background that I mentioned in the previous post.

Lets give a shot with another scanner...

Please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner
Note: You will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
  • Click Start
  • When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install
  • Click Start
  • Make sure that the options Remove found threats and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
  • Click Scan
Wait for the scan to finish
  • Use Notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
  • Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic
