Hey guys this is my first build so i could use some help on compatibility issues. I'm trying to keep the price under $1000. I have the operating system/soundcard/keyboard/mouse/speakers already. I'm mainly using it for gaming and internet. Most of my shopping is done on newegg and tigerdirect. Any advice would be great.

Hoping i'm not missing anything. Let me know if i should switch any parts out, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

It looks alright so far, a few changes I suggest:

Upgrade that processor to the Wolfdale version - the E8400
There are some better performing hard drives out there, including a 640GB from WDC, and the Samsung SpinPoint F1 series
I find Sony DVD Burners are overpriced - where are you buying from and what are you paying?
What timings does this memory set have?

Do not use that PSU, they are poor quality. I highly suggest a better manufacturer, such as Antec, Silverstone, Corsair, PC P&C, etc...

Cheers
