My parents' computer is in shambles. They have so much malware, it's disgusting. I've run Spybot S&D and CWShredder. I've tried to run AdAware, but it seems to get hung up at the end when doing a conditional scan. I would greatly appreciate anyone's help as I have a feeling this will be quite the project.
Thanks

Hello Ryan,

Yes, you have several different infections on your system, (qoologic, Look2ME, iSearch..)that's why we have to perform everything step by step, because some of them need a special treatment.
So, I strongly suggest you print out next instructions or save them in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode and this page wouldn't be available then.
It's also important you don't miss any step and perform it in the right order.

* Download and install CleanUp!
Do not use it yet.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Please download LSPfix and save it to the Desktop and unzip it.
Run LSPfix and place a check against the I know what I am doing checkbox.

Highlight every instance of the following names and move them from the Keep to the Remove panel. Be sure to move nothing other than the files listed below!

dolsp.dll
aklsp.dll

When done, click on Finish to exit the program; do not use the X in the top right-hand corner as nothing will happen!

* Reboot into Safe Mode`:
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [navapp] C:\Program Files\NavExcel\NavHelper\v2.0.4d\navapp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\vivzkn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Nsv] C:\WINDOWS\System32\nsvsvc\nsvsvc.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [picsvr] C:\WINDOWS\System32\picsvr\picsvr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [mf3216] C:\WINDOWS\System32\mf3216.exe
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Hints - C:\WINDOWS\system32\lv6u09j9e.dll

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\vivzkn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nsvsvc <== this folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\picsvr <== this folder
C:\Program Files\NavExcel <== this folder
C:\WINDOWS\isrvs <== this folder
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\delprot.sys
C:\Windows\delprot.ini

* Go to start > run and type: sc delete delprot

* Start CleanUp! Click the CleanUp-button.
When done, close it and it will ask you to log off. Click ok.

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

I want to know what it is, so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\mf3216.exe

Click submit and let it scan.
Save the results in notepad.

Download FindQoologic.zip save it to your Desktop.
http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
Open the FindQoologic folder. Preferable to your desktop.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
Wait until a text opens and save the log.
If you get an error while running Findqoologic similar to 'C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application..'
Download next fix and run findqoologic again.

Post back a fresh HijackThislog + the results from the onlinescan(jotti) + the log from findqoologic and I'll take another look.

If you had any problems with deleting files or noticed any other problems during your fix, let me also know in your next reply.

Thanks again!

Everything went well, except I had trouble finding Qoologic. Everywhere I looked for it all I found was a broken link. So here is my HijackThis followed by the Jotti log...

Hello,

As I told you in your PM -- new malware is installed again.
About the link from findqoologic, you probably copied and pasted my previous steps in notepad, so it didn't show the entire url.
If you click on this link, you'll get the findqoologic-tool:

http://forums.net-in...=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
We'll use it later.

* Download LQfix.zip
Unzip it and save it to your desktop, don't use it yet!!

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://searchmiracle.com/sp.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://searchmiracle.com/sp.php

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Doubleclick LQfix.bat that you saved on your desktop before.
A doswindow will open and close again, this is normal.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

C:\Documents and Settings\Laura\Application Data\aism.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\nrna.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\VBOUNCER <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vuvzpn.exe

* Still in safe mode Run CleanUp! again.

* Reboot your system back to normal mode.

Open the FindQoologic folder. Preferable to your desktop.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
Wait until a text opens.
Post this in your next reply together with a fresh hijackthislog.

If you're getting an error while running findqoologic.bat similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application..", go to next site and download and run the fix for your system:

Did the steps. I also told my parents to stay off the computer until I get this resolved, as I am sure they are unknowingly adding more malware with each use.
Here it is...

Hello,

I see other malware again in your hijackthislog, but first let's deal with this one now first:

* Download Killbox.
Unzip it and Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\PWPUK.DAT
C:\WINDOWS\System32\BDBAMOR.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\VUVZPN.EXE
C:\docume~1\alluse~1\startm~1\programs\startup\NRNA.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\NFWRSSV.DLL

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together if the files are present!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you get a "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been Removed by External Process!" message then just restart manually.

Your computer must reboot now.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\System32\vuvzpn.exe reg_run
O9 - Extra button: Dell Home - {08DCFC6C-B6E4-480C-95A4-FC64F37B787E} - http://www.dellepro.com/corporate (file missing) (HKCU)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: App Management - C:\WINDOWS\system32\NFWRSSV.DLL

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot again and Post a new findqoologic-log + log from hijackthis.
