I can't upload files on the Internet

Whever I have tried to upload large files to the internet recently I have gotten this message:

"This/The document contains no data"

Why is it saying that?

It's done it on yousendit, rapidshare, even on hotmail. I'm wondering if I have some settings that need to be adjusted or something.
