Recently my desktop was infected by a virus and ever since I've been experiencing connectivity problems. I've called my ISP and checked that there's nothing wrong with their internet connection, my modem or my router. I have a laptop which uses the router for wireless and it doesn't have any problems with its connectivity.
When I found out about the virus I ran Malwarebytes and the online Kaspersky scanner. They both found problems and I got rid of them accordingly but ever since then, whenever I try to surf the internet with Firefox or IE, the page would show up as "failed to connect" or the web page will load incorrectly with letters overlapping and images not loading. If I refresh or click try again, eventually it'll connect correctly to the page. This connection problem also occurs when I try to update software, I usually get a message telling me to check if I have an internet connection but just like the web pages, if I click on the update button continually, eventually I'll catch a connection and the software update will proceed.
Not sure if its worth mentioning but sometimes when I click "try again" on the "failed to connect" screen I get a popup that says "to display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier.
So today I came to geekstogo and followed the steps on the "you must read this before posting a hijack this log" thread. So after following the steps I found that Avast picked up 22 viruses and I deleted them all. I'm really not sure if the problem is resolved after that Avast scan or if there are things that will surface again.
Please take a look at the HJT log and see if there's anything else I need to do. I appreciate any help thank you.
