dont know name of virus

I apologize for the title not being the name of the virus as i have no idea what the name is or any idea as how to find out the name, sorry. Anyways I am running windows xp media center edition 2005. My computer had a virus before and I had to get a new hard drive because it wouldnt even boot and it wouldnt even let me do a system recovery. All it would say is just "disc boot error please insert disc and press enter". So i got a new hard drive and all was good for about 4 months until i got a virus from (im guessing) downloading music. Unless it is possible that i still have the same virus even though i replaced the hard drive? Anyway here is whats happening to my computer. About 5-10 min after boot it will freeze and the shut off button wont even work. You have to unplug the computer to restart it. Then Sometimes after it is restarted it will work and sometimes it will say "system boot error please insert disc and press enter", and it wont start windows or anything. then Sometimes it will boot up and give me a message that "your computer has recovered from a serious problem" then asks me to send a report or something, but the report is damaged. I did a complete system recovery but there is still this problem , i dont know how but i dont know much about computers so.. anyway this is my 5th time typing this topic as it keeps freezing midway.
Umm also theres no ads or anything popping up on my computer and norton says all is good:\ so it must be a tricky one.

Ok so now sometimes before it has time to freeze I get this blue screen. and it says windows has detected a problem and has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. Then it says something about "Kernel stack inpage error" , then begginning dump of physical memory. Any Ideas as to what this could be?

If you had followed the rules you would have got a reply

We specifically say not to bump your own thread, and after three days you should have posted in the waiting room where you would have got a reply promptly.


We get such a huge amount of people here looking for our help, if you cant wait a few days for a reply then go to somewhere like Geek Squad where they will fix it for a few hundred dollars.

How can somebody be so rude when we offer an excellent and free service, I will never know.
