My brother has an Advent 3112 desktop computer running Windows XP, 512MB RAM. He went to turn it on today after a few months of not using it and is getting no signal to the monitor. The PSU is running but he has no signal to the monitor at all (he has tried different monitors). The orange hard drive light is constantly on but not flickering as in normal start-up so we doubt that it is a dodgy VGA socket.

Any ideas about what to try next would be appreciated!

If it is a seperate video card you could try reseating it while also cleaning any dust away from it and the slot..... if it's not a seperate card or that doesn't work next guess is the power supply and/or motherboard is gone....
