problems with Dlink wireless router

i like in a networked community and have a internet connection provided by the community itself.
i brought the D-link DI-514 wireless router and hooked it up and also registered iy with my service provider.
i follow all the setup steps for the router and for the internet connection. it shows me excellent strength but am not able to not able to connect to the internet.
can anyone help me with this.

I might me wrong, but this sounds a bit off. Does the nieghborhood have a wireless connection? If so, you just need an adapter, not a whole router.

This is true. Right now you have computers connected wirelessly to the router am I correct? Now what is the router connected to?
