Lavasoft is offering these two items at a reduced rate. Am interested but wold like to know if it is necessary to have such on one's PC. Has anyone tried these and has an opinion of such?

Ad-aware has been recommended by MS as a protection program so thinking these two items might be helpful also and all comes from Lavasoft.
