I am receiving the following error messages on Microsoft Word 6.0
1) (Filename) is being used by another user.
2) Another user has opened this file
3) You do not have permission to work on the network. Contact network administrator.

I have unistalled and reinstalled Word with no success. Also reinstalled the system software. I am running MacOs 8.6 platform and not on an Office network. Just functioning with one home-based computer.

Can create and save documents with Simple Text. Word seems to be the only program that is problematic. Are there system extensions that should be turned off, perhaps affecting the performance?
