i have a dell 5.1 speaker system and its great, but ive been told that sound is the most underrated part of pc gaming and also i heard that the position of them is crucial. i attached my sketch of my desk. the circles are the speakers, and the square/rectangle is the subwoofer. what would be the ideal placing of my speakers?
thanks

First thing is you need to go out and buy yourself a ruler.

On the 5.1 speaker front they only work properly if the position are correct so you want the rear speakers to actually be to your rear. So you want them to ideally be on the wall behind you I used to put them on the book case behind me to save mounting them to a wall. The right and left speakers want to be a decent bit to the left and right it depends on the size of your desk if you need to move them off the desk.

The centre and sub-woofer should be directly in front of you, the sub can go on the floor under the desk but you want the front speaker either in front or behind the monitor.
