CD's will not burn on CD burner

Alright fellas my friend is having a little problem. She has a Vaio with Windows Vista, and she has been using CD-RW to try and burn on Windows Media Player. She starts burning and it finishes but it will not play in anything and most of the time it doesn't even play on the laptop saying there is no data on the disc. So can you guys tell me whats going on?
