Can anyone help with this? I have run Google searches and just come to software ads. I cannot install XP or IE updates and my system is constantly trying to load new hardware, although none is available. Thank you!

Cannot install or cannot download? If you can browse the web, (and don't have SP3) I would download it here and try to install that. I have no idea if that'll help your problem at all, but it's worth a shot.
