History of Problem:

1 - Recently had a vicious virus called Reg.Clean discovered by SpyHunter Program
according to a tech, it replicates itself once found so that great deal of persistence is needed
to remove it.

2 - Tech suggested I use Yahoo email as safer than Outlook Express.
Find Yahoo has too many bells and whistles for my taste
OE is simplifed and easy to use.

3 - Yahoo with Nortons maintains that some downloads I receive contain a virus
Scanning of same file on OE with my ESET NOD32 AV program, finds no virus
Do not know which AV program to believe.

4 - On both Nortons and Eset antivirus programs, a rescanning of a suspicious download files, elicits nothing. No windows open to tell me progress of the rescanning of a file. Am missing something here?

questions: :)

Is OE as risky to use for an email program as I hear from various sources?

How does one use an antivirus program to rescan a single email file so that some
notation appears as to the result of the scan?
