Someone has sent me a Word document and has aked me to insert my electronic signature in the space provided. Somehow he inserted his signature in the document and it is just like handwriting and shows up in blue ink. How do I do that?

Thanks for your help.

This is more likely an embedded picture than anything else.

Scan your signature in with the scanner, resize it as needs be and insert it as a new picture.

An alternative and more expensive way is to use an electronic signature pad/Digital Signature Capture Device/Pen Tablet.
