hello,
first time here - great site!
sent link to here by a kind person on britishexpats.com!

my problem - if anyone can help i will be eternally grateful; i run winxp and in the last couple of days when i try to start up it runs a system check. if i dont cancel it and it runs the check, i end up with a scrolling list of files saying something about cross link on allocation unit...and the file list scrolls on and on.
I have tried various things from system restore, error checking, safe mode and a few others that have been suggested.
unfortunately all to no avail.

can anyone help or offer advice?

many thanks
