i'm trying remove Windows security alert icon on system tray. I turned auto update off and i can't get that icon to stop nagging me.

I think- think--you can disable this in xp powertoys tweakui (google it), under taskbar and start menu settings

i did this the other day, you need to click on the icon then click on 'what/where to buy' anti-virus software, in or around there you may be able to see a link saying 'i will manage my virus protection manually' or something of that nature.

sorry the advice was so obscure :/
