Hi ewallen,

Sorry it took so long to analyze your files.
I will need to see some pieces of your registry.
To do so please click Start > Run and then copy & paste each of the following commands in the dialog box. Each followed by clicking OK

regedit /e c:\SSODL.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad"

regedit /e c:\defclsid.txt "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\default"

By doing so the files
c:\SSODL.txt and c:\defclsid.txt will be created if the subkeys exist.
Post the content of the files that were made.

Hi Pieter,
Over the weekend I tried again to delete winttxex.dll and atmeorxx.exe and they are no longer showing up in the hijackthis log.
I also installed firefox and a new security package (zonealarm) and everything seems to be working fine; I can connect to the internet without any problems.
I'm not sure if this means I'm free of all the malware or not.

I followed your latest instructions re: the registry keys, and only one of the txt files showed up.

Thanks again,

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad]
"PostBootReminder"="{7849596a-48ea-486e-8937-a2a3009f31a9}"
"CDBurn"="{fbeb8a05-beee-4442-804e-409d6c4515e9}"

"SysTray"="{35CEC8A3-2BE6-11D2-8773-92E220524153}"

Here too is my current hijackthis log:

You got rid of it yourself. :tazz:

Please have a look at my site for some tips on how to remove and prevent spyware.

One thing I didn't quite understand from your post is, can you connect to the internet using IE as well?

Regards,
