Both of my computers need a ram upgrade and I am getting on that ASAP. Everything is slower. When I build my computer, I went cheap with the ram and with my laptop, it was a configure-to-order laptop so I didn't chose a good setting for ram.

It seems to be affecting peformance now.

ZoneAlarm used to be beast for spyware and anti-virus but as they released my upgrades, performance went sour. It has gotten to the point where shutdown/on load times are 5-10min and things are freezing up for a split second.

Googling found that this is a problem for other people as well.

I am going to be upgrading both my system's rams soon and I want to know what is a great current anti-virus+spyware protection (free or buy) on the market now. Resource-hogs suck.

Try Avira for anti-virus

Comodo for firewall

MalwareBytes Anti-Malware for anti-spyware
