Need Free Substitution for Power DVD

Hello.
I use Windows XP sp3.
My DVD driver was crated by ASUS. They provided NERO 8 essentials with their drivers, and not Power DVD. Therefor, I can't watch movies that are on DVD discs, on my computer (I mean ones created for DVD players that you connect to the TV...). I am looking for a free substitution for the not free program Power DVD.

ok, your post is a bit convuluted. As I understand it, your current dvd playback solution is not working and you are looking for a free alternative.

I would recommend VLC from videolan.org.
