Why Am I Getting The Number "0" Everytime I Open My Browser?

Every 30 minutes or so I'll open up Mozilla Firefox or go back to the home page and instead of showing the default google homepage the browser displays the number zero. I don't understand why this is happening. This just started happening this week. The problem will indeed go away after a while but arises every so often.
