games dont recognise virtual memory

hi,
i recently built a new pc and have problems with games. My problem is that when trying to play halo trial it comes up with a warning box saying that i have 0mb of memory. I can click continue anyway and play the game but it slightly lags. I have changed the virtual memory to the recommended amount which is 6141mb but this doesnt fix it. Is there any memory settings to fix this.

My gpu is a gtx 260 and my ram is 4g ddr2 800mhz
