Hello All-Here's my problem:
I have a CD R/RW and a DVD R/RW drive in my desktop. Both have worked fine (the CD still does). recently, the DVD drive doesn't seem to recognize any disk (DVD Data, DVD video or CD audio). The drive is recognized on the "My Computer" utility but when I select the drive (with disk installed) I get a message "Insert Disk into "D" Drive". Also, when I insert the disk, the light on the front of the drive comes on, I get a whirring sound, but it sounds more feable then when it performed properly.

I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers to no avail.
Before i just replace the drive, any suggestions?

Thanks, in advance,

//Denis

CD/DVD drives use a separate laser for DVDs and CDs. It sounds like your DVD reader has gone out. This is not an uncommon problem and the drive likely just needs to be replaced.
