hi, I'm having problems with this new hard drive I bought, It's a "Western Digital My Book Essential 500GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive".
It claims that it is plug and play and it should run using the generic USB mass storage device driver but every time I connect it to my computer
windows (vista) expolrer crashes and then reboots, when it reboots the drive seems to be working fine. the file system on the drive is (i think)
FAT 32 so I tried reformatting it a couple of days ago to NTFS and its currently at 18%. Any reason why its taking so long? and is there anything else
I can do?
