I'm glad to have an area like this for assistance. I've read through the FAQ's on removals and done all and more. System: WinXP Home, SP2, AVG antivirus (updated), ZoneAlarm, Firefox (updated), Adaware (updated), Spybot S&D (updated), TDS, McAfee Stinger. All ran in Safe mode. Also did search in Safe mode for popuper.exe as this seemed to be the name of the offending malware. Found two instances and deleted them in safe mode. Emptied Recycle bin before rebooting. System Restore is turned off. Windows Messenger service disabled. I still get the pop ups after a short time on line; sometimes off line. Most tend to be either Online Casino or a page of (cute!) listings for spyware and virus removal. It also pops up as a "system warning" about spyware or viruses. In addition, I get the yellow triangle with explanation point flashing in the system tray, which when double clicked (cannot close any other way), pops up another of the same. I've run all listed above in Safe Mode, twice to no avail and have tried all I could do with msconfig. I've also seen (at shutdown) something called "Icon Notify" that has to be ended before shutdown. I haven't done any research on that yet.

Thanks to any and all that can assist. This is driving me nuts. I'll check back periodically and follow all instructions/suggestions as best I can.

EDIT: I just saw another (sorry for not checking better) post very similar to mine. I will follow all instructions listed there and post another log file after that is done.

Ok, I did all I could. So far it has not come back but it's only been a short time. I followed (as close as were relavent) the instructions in another thread on removing the Popuper.exe and intmonp.exe. I looked for and deleted any entries lableled Security Guard, virtual maid and search maid in Add/Remove programs. I opened the task manager and tried to end the processes of popuper.exe and intmonp but that was futile. No sooner than I had deleted them, they came right back to the list. I tried probably 20 times for each. I ran "killbox" and went through putting the pertinant lines listed into the window and selecting Delete on reboot. I booted into Safe Mode. I then ran HJT and looked for certain lines recommended but did not find them. I used Windows Explorer to look for C:\Program files\SeachMaid, then Virtual Maid, then Security Guard and C:\Windows\System32\Log files. I don't think I found any but if I did I deleted them. I ran Registar Lite, then rebooted out of Safe Mode. I used "Hoster" to restore original hosts. Then I ran DellDomains.inf to remove all entries in the Trusted Zone and Ranges. I then ran "Cleanup!" Here is my current HJT Log file. System Restore has been turned off for some time previous to all this also.

So far, in the time it's taken me to write this, there have been no reoccurances of the problem. However, I am not cofident because there have been some previous attempts that did the same for a short period before the problem came back.
I would appreciate those in the know taking a look at my log file and giving me any suggestions that might further assist in this or other potential problems. Thanks again for taking a look! TIA for any assistance.
EDIT: I forgot to mention. Once when one of the "offending" pop ups showed up, I right clicked and got the properties to the link. It was:

Not sure if that helps or not but figured I'd list it.

Second Edit: Didn't want to bump my own topic again but thought I'd report that, so far, the problem seems to have gone. I'll know more after a bit more time working with it though. I'd still hope to have someone more knowledgable take a look at my HJT log and advise me of improvements/changes needed. Thanks!

Ok, I did all I could. So far it has not come back but it's only been a short time. I followed (as close as were relavent) the instructions in another thread on removing the Popuper.exe and intmonp.exe. I looked for and deleted any entries lableled Security Guard, virtual maid and search maid in Add/Remove programs. I opened the task manager and tried to end the processes of popuper.exe and intmonp but that was futile. No sooner than I had deleted them, they came right back to the list. I tried probably 20 times for each. I ran "killbox" and went through putting the pertinant lines listed into the window and selecting Delete on reboot. I booted into Safe Mode. I then ran HJT and looked for certain lines recommended but did not find them. I used Windows Explorer to look for C:\Program files\SeachMaid, then Virtual Maid, then Security Guard and C:\Windows\System32\Log files. I don't think I found any but if I did I deleted them. I ran Registar Lite, then rebooted out of Safe Mode. I used "Hoster" to restore original hosts. Then I ran DellDomains.inf to remove all entries in the Trusted Zone and Ranges. I then ran "Cleanup!" Here is my current HJT Log file. System Restore has been turned off for some time previous to all this also.
