I noticed a while back that I was being redirected to something strange on Yahoo, at first I thought it was Yahoo, but now I think it might be the Browser Address Error Redirector and a trojan-ZLOB. I have done everything in the preparation as instructed and now I have a HJT log. Can someone look at it and help me get rid of the BAER & Trojan and whatever else might be infecting my computer. Thanks in advance. BTW, the system is Vista 16-bit

Hi there and sorry for the delay. I would like a fresh look at your system if I may

To ensure that I get all the information this log will need to be attached (instructions at the end) if it is to large to attach then upload to Mediafire and post the sharing link.

Download OTScanit2 to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

• Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
• Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
• Check the box that says Scan All Users
• Check the Radio button for Rootkit check YES
• Under Additional Scans check the following:
  • File - Lop Check
  • File - Purity Scan
  • Evnt - EventViewer Errors/Warnings (last 10)
• Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
• Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
• When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
• Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

Please attach the log in your next post.

To attach a file, do the following:

• Click Add Reply

• Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
• Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here along with a new Hijackthis log.

Ok, everything seems to be working properly, not sure though about IE due to using only Firefox while on G2G due to locking up problem with IE. I will have to ck IE further to be certain. Also, I did notice in Add/Remove program that the Browser Redirector is now gone.

Sorry it took so long to reply back regarding any problems after fixing, well unfortunately I do have a problem now, my IE is trying to lock up again. I was on yahoo's website looking at my mail and when I attempted to go to another page on yahoo, the IE locked up. I'm not sure what is going on now, but I will await your reply.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP, Vista and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
