<_< I recently purchased a second hand replacement CD-Rom for my laptop. It loads up fine, and reads no problem, but I can't get any sound from music CD's.
My previous CD-Rom provided the sound no problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

CD-ROM's require the connection of a seperate audio cable to your motherboard or sound card. It's a small wire, with small plugs on each end. One should have come with your CD-ROM. Did you connect it?

<_< Nope, no cable came with it, but no cable came with my previous CD-Rom which was a plug and play unit, and played music no bother.
Also been through the manual for my new unit and there is no mention of a cable connection.
Is this perhaps something to do with the drivers?

<_< Further to my last post I have discovered that the reason it won't produce sound is that Window(98) can't find the file CDP32.exe.
Tried google without success.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If CDP32.exe is a driver file for you CD-ROM then it can be found from the manufactures web-site usally under the drivers section.
