WMI Performance Monitors duplicate counters

I use the system WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) to keep an eye on what's going on with my PC.
I have opted for 'allow duplicate counter instances' but it will not show (eg) Memory Available MBytes twice at different scales.
Why is this?
