No Pics in Message Board Web Pages Using IE

Pics in message board web pages show up as the text used to imbed them. The little smiley faces etc. do not show up either. What do I need to turn on or off to get them to work.

Check settings in the 'Multimedia' section of IE: Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced (tab)
