Help My wc3 Wont open

Hey i have a Windos 2000 and i jus tinstalled Wc3 and Wc3 Frozen but for some reason when I try and start it up, it says directX 8.1 will not inatialize and it satys on the logo screen before the game starts and it just stays there. I have tried to download directX and it still doewsnt work please help me.
