Some people are loosing their normal.dot, but I can't fix mine. Previously on a variety of computers, I had my favorite normal.dot which I monkeyed around with & got it working in the appropriate place. Well now the computer converts my good ole template into one old generic normal.dot.

How can I prevent this or in the least how can I modify my new normal.dot (since I can't get rid of it)?

Thanks for any suggestions,
llbprayer ;) :tazz:

See if installing the profile wizard retains the settings

Profile Wizard

If it changes after running this you should be able to restore to the OPS file which takes 30 secs

Yeah

I had this problem too. I ended up having to reinstall everything. Wish I knew what to do.

if you search for normal.dot and delete every one found and then relaunch word. this will recreate normal.dot. It would be better to create macros for what need or custom document (template) with all the settings you want.
