Hello!

Recently, I've had someone I know fix a computer and returned to me
However, what I found out was that EVERYTHING was wiped (programs, my stuff, etc)

Now, the problem is that 2 of the missing functions are wireless network and audio

I have a USB hub drive that can connect to the PC via cable but I'm not sure how to install it properly.

Could someone kindly guide me through the process to get back audio + wireless network for a windows XP PC?

Thank you

P.S.: I hope this is the right section to ask such a question.

Go Start>Run, type in:
devmgmt.msc
Click OK.

Any yellow "?", or "!" marks there?
Computer brand, and model, please.

Here you go. That's the reason, you have both features missing.
To better identify your issue...

Download, and install Everest: http://www.majorgeek...wnload4181.html
Open it, click Computer, then Summary.
In upper menu, go Report>Quick Report-Summary
Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Don't include anything under line Debug - PCI

Thank you so much!
My wireless works now!

But the audio still doesn't work....the download didn't give me anything except a file I can't seem to use or run.

Yep, but the only file I got was one called ac97ich4.sys (system file) which I can't do anything with and an oem34.inf file (setup information) which I don't understand @_@

When you download the above RTL8187B_5_6.1135.0625.2008_Silent_Install.zip file, it contains setup.exe file, which you should run

That's for the wireless, not the audio.

I successfully downloaded the file you are showing right now, but I didn't get my audio back (your second link didn't help).

Audio Adapter Intel 82801FB ICH6 - AC'97 Audio Controller driver: http://members.drive...driverid=205636 (free registration required)

This is the one I'm talking about that didn't help.

Did you unzip RTL8187B_5_6.1135.0625.2008_Silent_Install.zip, and run setup.exe?
What do you mean by "your second link didn't help"? What second link?

This is the one I'm talking about (the one in bold).

I already installed RTL8187B_5_6.1135.0625.2008_Silent_Install.zip and it was for installing wireless networking. It did not help me get my audio back.

Did you restart computer after installing audio driver?
How are the errors in Device Manager now (after restarting)?
